More Than 300 of Mao's Works on Display in Beijing

A rare exhibition was opened in Beijing on Sunday to mark the 111th anniversary of the birthday of late Chinese leader Mao Zedong (1893-1976), by displaying more than 300of Mao's works.

The exhibition is being held at the Chairman Mao Zedong Memorial Hall in Tian'anmen Square and is sponsored by the People's Publishing House, a leading publisher of Mao's works.

The most eye-catching of the exhibits is the latest contribution by the publishing house -- a book called "Precious Collection of Calligraphic Works by Mao Zedong." The book, made of pure gold, is extraordinary valuable, and only 111 volume will be distributed.
