Beijing to Hold Olympic Photography Contest

Beijing Tourism Administration (BTA) announced today it will host a photography contest "Olympic City in View" from May 10 to September 15.

The opening ceremony was held at the Beijing Working People's Cultural Palace on May 10, according to the announcement of BTA.

The contest, sponsored by the Beijing Tourism Administration (BTA), is open to "all photographers who love Beijing", said the announcement.

BTA hopes through this contest enthusiastic photographers will record the wonders of this ancient capital as it is transformed into one of the world's marvels.

There will be one Grand-Prize, two First-Prize, five Second-Prize, eight Third-Prize and 100 Consolation-Prize winners announced at the end of the contest on September 15, according to the organizer.

Beijing, the host of 2008 Olympic Games, has pledged a "People's Olympics" that will display the city's history and culture in its fullest dimension and establish the city as a modern metropolis in the world.
