Dance Drama NANJING 1937 to Be Staged

China Opera and Ballet Theatre is now preparing a dance drama NANJING 1937 about the Nanjing Massacre.

The drama presents the audience with the history through the real experience of two famous women. One is Iris Chang, the author of The Rape of Nanking, and the other is German missionary Wilhelm Weitling from the U.S. Iris Chang discovered Weitling's dairy, and was shocked by the atrocities of the Japanese. She then wrote the book to tell people the true history of the Nanjing Massacre but later killed herself just like Weitling did.

This drama will be performed on the commemoration day of the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Agression.
