Japanese Oil Paintings Depict Atrocities During WWII

An oil paintings exhibition by a famous Japanese painter opens in the Chinese capital of Beijing Monday, in a bid to expose atrocities committed by Japanese militarists against Chinese people during the World War II.

The exhibition, involving 13 vivid, life-like paintings by Ko Kujerai, was exhibited in various parts of Japan and drew wide repercussion of local people before they were moved to China for display.

As part of an effort to further develop Sino-Japanese relations, the exhibition marks the 60th anniversary of the victory of the world Anti-Fascist War as well as China's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression.

The week-long exhibition is co-organized by the China-Japan Friendship Association and the Japan-based Japan Asia Africa LatinAmerica Solidarity Committee.
