Nepal to Host Conference on Buddhist Heritage

The Fourth International Conference on the Buddhist Heritage of Nepal Mandala 2005 will be held in Kathmandu from Sept. 6 to 10, the organizers said Saturday.

Buddhism experts from 11 countries will attend the meeting aimed at creating an environment to build consensus among the participating countries for the development, preservation and promotion of the religion, the organizers said at a press conference.

The conference will also showcase exhibitions on Mandala, ritual artifacts, sculptures, paintings, published books, manuscripts, photos and ritual ceremonies related with Buddhism of Nepal Mandala, according to the organizers.

The foreign experts are coming from countries like China, Vietnam, Japan, Mongolia, Germany, Bangladesh and Australia.

The conference was organized by Lotus Research Center in collaboration with 19 other organizations.

Nepali Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation BuddhiRaj Bajracharya will inaugurate the event amidst a gathering of senior monks from more than 60 monasteries of Kathmandu Valley, the organizers added.
