A photo exhibition showing Tibet's four decades of achievement is underway in Beijing Friday.

About 270 photos are on show, reflecting Tibet's the magnificent landscape and its changing history since it was made into an autonomous region in 1965, according to the sponsors.

The week-long exhibition is jointly launched by Tibet Culture Protection and Development Association, Chinese Tibet magazine company and Tibet Literature Artistic Circles Federation.

The exhibition was previously shown in a Tibet Museum in Lhasa, Tibet's capital.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the foundation of the Tibet Autonomous Region.
