A Nice Combo of Fashion and Music
Adjust font size:

The upcoming Chinese musical "Butterflies" will be more than a musical.

At a press conference on Wednesday in Beijing, the production team of "Butterflies" showed off the musical's first by-product -- a clothing line designed by acclaimed fashion designer Bo Tao, who said his inspirations came right from the musical.

High-profile supermodels were invited to demonstrate the works, turning the press conference into a glamorous catwalk show.

Li Dun, producer of "Butterflies," told reporters that the 40 million-yuan (US$5.3 million) musical will generate a series of by-products in a variety of fields.

The drama, which stars pop singer Sha Baoliang, is loosely based on the Chinese legend of the "Butterfly Lovers." It is slated to hit Beijing's Poly Theater on September 11.

Fashion models walk the catwalk at a press conference promoting the new Chinese musical "Butterflies," in Beijing on Wednesday, September 5, 2007.
