May has seen lots of entertainment with the annual "Meet In Beijing Arts Festival". The warm days and long summer nights are filled with a variety of shows catering to different tastes. And sweet sounds of the symphony can be heard in Guangzhou, the capital city of Guangdong Province, by the Oklahoma City University Symphony Orchestra.

Varied American tunes such as jazz, country and even Broadway classics like Sound of Music, resonated in the Xinghai Concert Hall in Guangzhou on Monday. This was the last stop for The Oklahoma City University Symphony Orchestra who have been on the road throughout China performing. Other cities they visited included Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai and Nanjing. Mark Edward Parker, the conductor says that the tour had been in the planning for four years.

The 98-person group includes 86 student musicians. With nearly two tons of instruments, they have covered a combined total of 1.5 million miles over the 16-day China tour.
