Rock Stars to Hit 'China's Woodstock' in October
Adjust font size:

Cui Jian, founding godfather of China's rock music, will remain as the spiritual leader of this year's Snow Mountain Music Festival.

The second Snow Mountain Music Festival, the latest instalment of the so-called "China's Woodstock" will hit the ancient town of Lijiang, in southwest China's Yunnan province, on October 4.

A press release was held on Monday in Beijing's Star Live, the Sina entertainment reported.

Cui Jian, founding father of China's rock music, will remain as the spiritual leader of the event, just as what he did for the first one, held in 2002.

Meanwhile, Cui will head a slew of Chinese rock musicians, including Grunge veteran Xie Tianxiao, folk rocker Wan Xiaoli and acclaimed local band Shanren.

Marked as the biggest outdoor music festival in southwestern China, this year's three day Snow Mountain Music Festival will continue to make itself the "world's highest" music festival, at halfway up the isolated 5,596-metre Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, where the first showcase was put on five years ago.
