High-pitched Olympic tribute for the world
Adjust font size:

(L-R) Top Chinese tenors Fan Jingma, Dai Yuqiang and Ding Yi kick off their world tour at Beijing Exhibition Theater on Wednesday, October 24, 2007.

Three top-ranking Chinese tenors joined hands Wednesday at Beijing Exhibition Theater for the opening show of their world tour.

Ding Yi, Fan Jingma, and Dai Yuqiang, the only Asian student of the late great Italian tenor Luciano Pavarotti, will also perform in Shanghai and Shenzhen, before traveling to Sydney and Rome.

The three have embedded in their tour a theme of "Harmonious Sound, Passionate Olympics." The theme lauds next year's Beijing Olympics, when China will host the sports gala for the first time.

Part of the tour's proceeds will be donated to China Youth Development Foundation.
