Guizhou, New Zealand to Strengthen Cooperation in Animal Husbandry, Agriculture
Guizhou Province will satisfactorily carry out and strengthen cooperative programs with New Zealand, Shi Xiushi, governor of the southwest China province, said in Guiyang Wednesday.

Shi made the remark during talks with Jim Sutton, minister of agriculture, bio-security, forestry, trade negotiations and rural affairs of New Zealand.

The friendly exchanges between Guizhou and New Zealand can be traced back to the 1980's when the government of New Zealand offered aid to Guizhou, he said, adding that later more projects have been carried out.

Shi said all these projects have enhanced the development of local animal husbandry and improved the living standard of local farmers.

Sutton said he came to strengthen the cooperation with Guizhou in this field.

Sutton is heading a 28-person delegation of entrepreneurs visiting Guizhou at the invitation of Chinese Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Shi Guangsheng.

He will sign a memorandum, on behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture of New Zealand, on agricultural cooperation with the government of Guizhou Province.
