Chinese director and actor Jiang Wen will return with a new film project called The Sun Rise Again. 

Scheduled to start filming in October, new Hong Kong star Jaycee Chan has reportedly been cast as the male lead.

Veteran Hong Kong actress Rosamund Kwan is also lined up to appear as the mother of Jaycee's character.

No concrete story has been leaked yet, but director Jiang is scouting locations in Xinjiang. The buzz is that it's going to be a type road movie.

The director's last film Devils on the Doorstep, produced five years ago about the Anti-Japanese War, has not yet received permission to be shown on the mainland.
