Perhaps Love Represents HK to Compete for Oscar

Perhaps Love directed by Peter Chan, starring A-list mainland and Hong Kong actors, will represent Hong Kong in the competition for the Oscar for the Best Foreign Language Film, Hong Kong Film Producers Association announced Tuesday.

Chan said that he had refused to join in the competition in the five big international film festivals since he had already planned to attend the Oscars.

"I know that other film festivals won't conflict with winning an Oscar, but my film is not an artistic film, I don't have to attend every film festival. I'll choose the best one. That is the Oscar," said Chan.

Chan's Perhaps Love battled with other two Hong Kong films, The Myth, Everlasting Regret for the only one admission ticket in Hong Kong.

Chan was confident he would win the prize.
