China announced Thursday it would start temporary anti-dumping measures against imported Furan phenol from Japan, the United States, and European Union (EU).

China's Ministry of Commerce said in an announcement that it will collect cash deposits from importers of such products as a temporary anti-dumping measure.

The ministry launched the anti-dumping investigation on Aug. 12, 2004. After the investigation, the ministry decided those imported products constitute dumping, with a scope ranging from 74.6 percent to 113.2 percent.

Furan phenol, a kind of chemical raw material, can be used as an intermediate in pesticide and medicine.
