Indonesia Completes Blueprint on Aceh

Indonesian government has completed a blueprint for the reconstruction of tsunami-hit Aceh and allocated 45 trillion rupiah (around US$5 billion) for rebuilding the province within the next five years, a minister said in Jakarta Wednesday.

"Fifty percent of the fund will be allocated for infrastructure projects in the province," State Minister of National Development Planning Sri Mulyani Indrawati was quoted by the Jakarta Post online news as saying.

She said the government will build sea walls and replant mangrove forests along Aceh's coast to reduce the impact of possible tsunami in the future.

However, she said, the government is still considering to relocate thousands of people who used to live near the beaches in the province.
