Premier Wen Calls on Taxation Officials to Resist Corruption

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao has ordered the intensification of the education of taxation officials to improve their work ethics and resist corruption.

Wen said in a notice that the taxation officials should be aware of the tenet that they collect taxes for the country and they should abide by the law.

He has called on tax officials to resist corruption and work for an atmosphere featuring justice, credibility and probity.

The State Administration of Taxation held a meeting here Monday to communicate and spread Wen's instruction to local taxation authorities.
