KMT Chairman Offers to Help Taiwan Businessmen on Mainland

Taiwan-based Kuomintang (KMT) Party Chairman Ma Ying-jeou rendered his support for Taiwan businessmen working on the Chinese mainland on Monday, saying "they have made great contributions to Taiwan's economic growth."

At a dinner party to celebrate China's traditional Mid-Autumn Festival held in Taipei on Monday, Ma said the KMT thinks highly of Taiwan businessmen's rights and interests on the mainland and is willing to help them.

The State Council Taiwan Affairs Office has set up a complaint receiving bureau. The KMT is ready to deal with problems one by one by working with relevant departments on the mainland at regular intervals, Ma said.

The trade value between Taiwan and the mainland exceeded US$60 billion last year.
