Infectious Diseases Claim 742 Lives in September

A total of 742 deaths incurred from 27 kinds of infectious diseases involved in 352,577 cases in September in China, said the Ministry of Health in a report.

The top five most killer diseases were tuberculosis (TB), hydrophobia, AIDS, hepatitis B and epidemic cephalitis B, which accounted for 89.62 percent of all reported deaths, according to the epidemic report released on Monday.

The top five infectious diseases were TB, hepatitis B, bacterial and amebic dysenteries, gonorrhea and lues, constituting 88.45 percent of the total reported incidence, said the report.
