Macao's Efforts Hailed to Build Harmonious Society

Bai Zhijian, director of the Liaison Office of the Central Government in Macao, praised on Tuesday  the Macao people's efforts in building a harmonious society.

Bai said in his article published by Macao Daily News, the local leading Chinese newspaper, that the implementation of the basic principle of "one country, two systems" represents a successful practice of the social harmony.

Bai said the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) and the Macao people as well have never spare the efforts to boost harmonious ties among different social classes, ethnic clans and religious groups.

The official eulogized the MSAR government for its successful implementation of the people-based policy, which the central government has long been calling for.

He stressed that a harmonious society will be the ground for the economic and the political developments.

Macao Daily News published Bai's article to mark the sixth anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland.
