Corrupt Police Chief in Zhejiang Sentenced to Death
Director of the Public Security Bureau of Lucheng District, Wenzhou, in East China's Zhejiang Province, was sentenced to death Monday for taking bribes and owning a huge amount of property of unknown sources.

According to the Wenzhou Intermediate People's Court, which handed down the sentence, Wang Tianyi took 1.84 million yuan (about US$,687) and us$10,000 in bribes, and could not explain the source of more than 14.12 million yuan (about US$1.7 million)-worth of property.
