Zeng Qinghong Calls for Efforts to Achieve CPC Goals
Senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official Zeng Qinghong has called for vigorous efforts to achieve the goals set by the just-concluded 16th National Congress of the CPC.

Zeng, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, was addressing the closing ceremony on Friday of the 33rd provincial leader-training course at the request of Hu Jintao, president of the Party School of the CPC Central Committee.

"Under the strong leadership of the Party Central Committee with Hu Jintao as its general secretary, we should uphold the great banner of Deng Xiaoping Theory, implement the important concept of "Three Representatives", unite as one, and be enterprising and innovative," said Zeng,

Explaining the significance of the congress, Zeng said it was a united, triumphant and enterprising congress. It laid a solid foundation for China's development in the new century and new era -ideologically, politically and organizationally.

Zeng focused on the important concept of "Three Representatives", which says the CPC must always represent China's advanced productive forces and culture and the fundamental interests of the overwhelming majority of the Chinese people.

He said the "Three Representatives" was the brainchild of Chinese President Jiang Zemin, who had adhered to the basic principles of Marxism, scientifically summarized the Party's historical experience since its founding, especially the fresh experience the Party had gained since launching the ongoing reform and opening drive, faithfully learned the historical lessons of socialism worldwide, and collected the wisdom of the whole Party.

To implement the "Three Representatives", development should be made the primary focus for the Party to govern and rejuvenate the country, he said.
