Vice-Premier Vows to Further Regulate Market Order
Vice-Premier Wu Yi Friday urged all localities and departments around China to intensify market order rectification and regularization efforts.

It is a permanent task to rectify and standardize the market order in the entire process of improving the country's socialist market economy, she said at the first full-member meeting of the new national leading group for rectifying and regularizing market economic order.

Priority should be given to severely punishing those involved in the production and sales of fake and shoddy commodities such as foodstuffs, medicine and agricultural materials.

Special task forces will be sent to check real estate, automobile and telecommunications products, she said.

Since April 2001 when the government launched a nationwide market order rectification and regularization drive, a number of crimes have been investigated and their perpetrators, punished.
