Macao recorded 11 HIV infections in the first half of this year, among which were five non-residents, according to official statistics issued Wednesday.

The figures from the Health Bureau (HB) showed that three of the 11 reported HIV cases were caused by homosexual intercourse.

The total number of reported HIV cases has reached 378 since 1986, when the first was logged, according to the statistics.

The region has a population of 520,000.
