Sino-Foreign University Presidents' Forum to Open in Beijing

The second Sino-Foreign University Presidents' Forum will be held in Beijing from August 4 to 10. University presidents and specialists from more than 100 prestigious universities at home and abroad are expected to attend the forum, according to the Chinese Ministry of Education.

The themes of the seven-day forum are "strategic planning of university development" and "scientific innovation and technology transfer." Some domestic and foreign university presidents will be invited to deliver key-note speeches, introducing features of their university and sharing their experience and expertise in university administration, said Deputy Minister of Education Zhang Xinsheng.

Zhang said that 14 presidents from renown universities such as Yale University, Stanford University, Columbia University, Cambridge University and Oxford University, will be invited.

More than 120 university presidents will be present at the forum.

The first Sino-Foreign University Presidents Forum was held in Beijing in July 2002.
