Cinderella a la Ukraine to come to China

Canada's Ukrainian Shumka dancers are expected to hit the stage in Beijing with their utterly unique version of Cinderella this September.

Adding new twists to an old story, Cinderella has been recomposed by adding elements of Ukrainian folk dance.

And in Shumka's Cinderella, 55 dancers play a total of 50 character roles, making more than 384 costume changes during the performance.

Based out of the northwestern city of Edmonton, Shumka is one of Canada's top professional dance companies.
