Foreign Minster Li Zhaoxing says China is willing to play a constructive role in realizing peace in the Middle East region.

In a meeting with visiting Israeli Foreign Minister, Silvan Zion Shalom, in Beijing, on Monday, Li Zhaoxing says China hopes Palestine and Israel can resume peace talks as soon as possible.

Shalom says he appreciates China's efforts in solving the Middle East issue and repeated the Israeli government's support of the "One China" policy.
