The 5th "Meet in Beijing" Arts Festival will kick off in the Chinese capital city on April 28.

More than one thousand artists coming from over 30 countries around the world will present 100 performances and four large exhibitions to the Chinese audience during the month-long cultural event.

"Meet in Beijing" Arts Festival is a large-scale international festival hosted by the Ministry of Culture, the Beijing Municipal Government and the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television.

Inaugurated in 2000, it has attracted over 200 artistic groups and arts exhibitions from the world.

This year's festival will run through May 31.
