Turkey has tightened security at holiday resorts in an effort to protect its tourism industry.

This follows a weekend bomb attack that killed five people, including two foreign tourists, and injured 13 in the Aegean resort of Kusadasi.

The attack was the latest and by far the most deadly in a series of incidents at Aegean holiday resorts that appear aimed at scaring away tourists.

There is no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombing in Kusadasi.

The most likely perpetrators, according to the Turkish media, are a violent separatist group known as the Kurdish Liberation Hawks.

This group claimed responsibility for a bombing in the nearby resort of Cesme a week ago, which injured about 20 people, and has threatened to continue targeting tourist resorts.
