Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met visiting Chinese special envoy to the Mideast peace process Wang Shijie in Gaza on Wednesday night and the two sides held talks on the future of the regional peace process.

The meeting focused on discussing the latest developments in the Palestinian territories following the Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and parts of northern West Bank, revealed Palestinian official sources.
