Moldova's President Reiterates Adherence to One-China Policy

Moldova's President Vladimir Voronin said on Wednesday that his country will continue to give unswerving support for China's principled stance on the Taiwan issue.

Voronin made the remarks during a ceremony to receive a credential delivered by China's newly appointed ambassador Gong Jianwei, who arrived in Chisinau, capital of Moldova, for his term on November 30.

Voronin lauded the full development of the friendly cooperative relations between the two countries and the fruitful outcome from mutual cooperation during 13 years of diplomatic ties.

He said the government and the people of Moldova sing high praise of and heartfully appreciate the assistance and the sincere support from China and the Chinese people.

Voronin also acclaimed China and Moldova's close cooperation on a series of international and regional affairs and mutual support on issues such as safeguarding national sovereignty and preserving territorial integrity.
