Adjust font size:

Nearly 100 government officials and scholars from China and South Korea gathered in Beijing on Thursday to share their experience in building a harmonious society.

On a China-South Korea forum on development strategies which was launched on Thursday morning, government officials and experts of the two countries held in-depth discussions on the topic of building a harmonious society and the role of the government.

They shared the other country's development experience in facilitating balanced development of various regions and industries, building highly effective government and promoting there form of administrative systems.

Sun Xiaoyu, deputy director of the Development Research Center of China's State Council, believes there are similarities between China's strategies of all-round, harmonious and sustainable development and ROK's present strategy of balanced development. Therefore it is very helpful for the two sides to learn from each other and share their experience, he said.

The forum is a key part of the largest-ever South Korea cultural exchange event launched here Wednesday to celebrate the 15th anniversary of China-South Korea diplomatic ties.

The cultural event, titled "Dynamic South Korea," is being held under an agreement by Chinese President Hu Jintao and South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun during Hu's South Korean trip in November 2005.
