Musharraf to Doff Uniform After Re-election
Adjust font size:

Pakistani President General Pervez Musharraf will doff uniform after re-election before taking oath, his lawyer told the Supreme Court on Tuesday.

General Musharraf's term as President expires on November 15, Sharifuddin Pirzada told the court, hearing petitions to challenge two offices of General Musharraf.

Musharraf will relinquish charge of army chief if re-elected as president in the coming presidential elections, he said.

Government officials said the presidential election will be held between September 15 and October 15, but the election commission has not announced the schedule for presidential polls yet.
