Philippine President starts visit to China

Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo left Tuesday morning for a two-day visit to China and then a three-day visit to India.

She was accompanied by Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto Romulo, Trade Secretary Peter Favila, Press Secretary Ignacio Bunye and a team of business experts, Philippine ABS-CBN TV reported.

She will address the Philippine Business and Investment Forum organized by the Council for Promotion of International Trade and the Shanghai Overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce and attend the opening ceremonies of the Special Olympics hosted by China.

From China, President Arroyo and her delegation will fly to India to meet heads of its government and business groups for three days.
