China: 'glad' with smooth conclusion of Pakistan's elections
Adjust font size:

China is glad with the smooth conclusion of Pakistan's general elections, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Liu Jianchao on Wednesday.

Liu made the remarks when responding to a journalist's question.

He said,"Pakistan is China's friendly neighbor, and we hope Pakistan will continue to maintain stability, development, democracy and harmony after the establishment of new government,"

Initial results showed that the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) has won the largest number of National Assembly seats, but not secured a majority.
