China, US Hold Meeting on Military Maritime Safety
Officials from China and the United States held a meeting on military maritime safety between the two countries from Tuesday to Thursday in Hawaii, the Chinese Ministry of Defense said on Friday.

This was the first meeting of the military maritime and air safety working group for the years of 2002-03 under the Consultation Mechanism to Strengthen Military Maritime Safety between China and the United States, the ministry said in a press release.

Adopting a pragmatic attitude, the two sides exchanged views on issues related to military maritime safety between China and the United States. The discussion was held in a candid and constructive atmosphere.
