German Chancellor Leaves Beijing for Shanghai
Visiting German Federal Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder left Beijing Monday for Shanghai to continue his China tour.

During Schroeder's stay in Beijing, Chinese President Jiang Zemin and Vice-President Hu Jintao met him respectively. Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji also held talks with the German Chancellor.

Schroeder began his three-day working visit to China on Sunday as Zhu's guest.
