Slovak President Attends Ceremony to Launch His Book in Beijing
President Rudolf Schuster of the Slovak Federal Republic attended a book-launching ceremony in Beijing Sunday for the Chinese edition of his monograph, "Ultimatum," about the political events in his country in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Schuster arrived in Beijing at noon on Sunday after a visit to Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi province, where he started his state visit to China Saturday afternoon as a guest of Chinese President Jiang Zemin.

The Slovak president is also scheduled to visit China's economic hub Shanghai and Hong Kong.

This is Schuster's first China visit since he took the presidency.
