Chinese Defense Minister Chi Haotian met with the Sasakawa Japan-China Friendship Fund delegation headed by former Japanese Prime Minister Hashimoto Ryutaro in Beijing Thursday.
Chi, also vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the People's Republic of China and a state councilor, discussed Sino-Japanese relations and issues of common concern with the Japanese guests.
Xiong Guangkai, deputy chief of general staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, and Miao Shuchun, vice-president of the China Society for International Strategic Studies, attended the meeting.
