US Not to Sponsor Human Rights Resolution Against China
Richard Boucher, spokesman for the United States Department of State, said in Washington Friday the US administration has decided not to sponsor a resolution against China on its human rights situation at the ongoing session of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights in Geneva.

"After careful consideration, the United States decided not to sponsor a resolution on China's human rights practices at the United Nations Commission on Human Rights in Geneva this year," Boucher told a news briefing at the State Department.

He said over the last 18 months, senior-level meetings between the United States and China have promoted substantive dialogue in bilateral and multilateral channels.
