China Unveils Civilian Exports Using Military Technology

China's Commission of Science Technology and Industry for National Defense released an export list including nearly 1,000 civilian products using military technology on Wednesday.

The products on the list include designs for nuclear power stations, liquid-fuel rocket motors, mobile satellite telecom systems, gas turbines and oil tankers.

China's defense industry now mainly produces civilian products, with an output value reaching 106.4 billion yuan (some US$12.8 billion), said Zhang Weimin, deputy director of the commission.

The list, written both in Chinese and English, introduces 12 types of civilian products using military technology, including those using nuclear and civilian space technology, mechanical and electrical equipment, and environmental protection and energy-saving technology.
