Large Dinosaur Fossils Discovered in Yunnan

A group of large dinosaur fossils about 160 million years old were discovered in Yuanmou County of Southwest China's Yunnan Province.

The fossils were buried one to two meters deep in a valley near Jiangyi village, about 100 kilometers north of Yuanmou County seat.

"Those fossils are the remains of dinosaurs living in the middle of the Jurassic period," said Dong Zhiming, a research fellow with the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleo-anthropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Dong said the dinosaurs were over 20 meters tall with a long neck and a huge body.
