Ericsson to Set up R&D Center in SW China

The Swedish telecommunications equipment maker Ericsson has announced its plans to set up a research and development center in southwest China.

The center, located in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province, will initially develop parts for radio base station products for GSM, CDMA and WCDMA mobile standards for the global market.

It will also act as Ericsson's purchasing base in the province. Ericsson has already established R&D facilities in Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Qingdao and Dalian.
