Experts Warn of Large Internet Attack

Computer industry experts are warning of a mysterious, large-scale, Internet attack against thousands of popular websites.

The virus-like infection tries to implant hacker type software on to the computers of all web site visitors who go to infected or malicious web sites.

The mysterious infection appeared to target at least one recent version of software by Microsoft to operate websites.

Experts said the attacks were unusually broad but were not substantially interfering with internet traffic.

They recommended consumers and corporate employees to update the anti-virus software on their computers.
