Air China to Further Strengthen Safety

Air China will further strengthen air safety in cabin, cargo and passenger transportation.

Measures will include fighting against illegal immigration, establishing cabin safety standard, increasing the number of test flights to Europe and the United States.

Air China flew 278,833 hours in the first half of 2005, up 16.51 percent compared with the previous year. The accident rate decreased during the period. This China's largest air carrier decided to strengthen safety methods in the second half of the year.

Other measures will include stipulating operation safety management, promoting international safety standard and strengthening supervision on cabin and maintenance.
