Delayed Flyer Sues China Eastern Airlines

The Pudong New Area People's Court yesterday heard a lawsuit filed by Wang Lin against China Eastern Airlines for causing financial losses because of a flight delay.

Wang and her family were leaving for Hong Kong from Shanghai on December 31, 2004. They were going to catch their connecting flight to Pakistan.

Their flight was delayed for more than three hours because of bad weather in Shanghai and the connecting flight had left Hong Kong by the time they arrived. Wang then had to pay another US$2,300 to fly to Pakistan after failing to reach an agreement with China Eastern.
