Chongqing to Build Bike Lane by Jialingjiang Riverside

Chongqing plans to build a bicycle lane for sight-see purpose along the Jialingjiang riverside. When completed, tourists will be able to enjoy the beautiful scenery described in poets' writings while riding on a bike.

The bike lane, to be built on the Jialingjiang scenery zone, will extend to eleven kilometers long and two meters wide. Two bicycles can ride side by side on the lane.

The bike lane will be separated from the vehicle lane with trees and at some places, it will be built above the vehicle lane to insure cyclists' security.

Experts judge the Jialingjiang scenery zone to be one of the few regions in China with excellent riverside water resources. Numerous sceneries are dotted along the riverside.

Du Fu, a famous poet of the Tang dynasty once wrote a poem to describe the beautiful sceneries at Jialingjiang. When the bike lane is built, cyclists can see all these sceneries once depicted in the poet.
