Titled as a textile manufacturing base and a place of feather garment down wear, Xiaoshang region, located in east China's Zhejiang province, recently got another name "the place of embroidery", as acknowledged by the China Arts and Crafts Association.

Currently, the production of embroidery in Xiaoshan accounts for 50 percent of the total production in the country and export volume is 40 percent of the country's total.

Embroidery production has a long history in the region. Currently, the region has 500 shuttle embroidery machines.

There are over 50 enterprises in Xiaoshan running the business of embroidery production and the number of workers participating in the industry reaches 100,000.

Products made in the region are exported to European countries, the United States, the Middle East countries and countries in Africa.
