China Tourism Deal Ready to Sign

Australia is set to strike a deal to lure millions of Chinese tourists.

The Daily Telegraph reports that 100 million Chinese will be heading overseas on holidays by 2025.

Australia wants to capitalize on this huge market, and is expected to sign an agreement with China tomorrow to boost tourism between the two countries.

Dozens of tourism and industry officials from China are in Australia as part of a tourism summit held in Melbourne this week.

Tourism Minister Fran Bailey says China is a golden opportunity for the Australian tourism industry, translating to more jobs and income for Australians.

The Daily Telegraph reports there are 285,000 Chinese tourists visiting Australia each year.

Australia has already reportedly been liberalizing air travel to China, but demand for seats is expected to outstrip capacity in another two years.
