Greece, Thailand Sign Tourism Cooperation Memorandum

A memorandum of cooperation in the tourism sector was signed here on Tuesday between Greek Tourism Development Minister Fani Palli-Petralia and visiting Thailand Deputy Prime Minister Surakiart Sathirathai.

The two countries agreed to facilitate the flow of tourists between them, according to the memorandum.

They also agreed to strengthen the projection of tourism through an exchange of information and advertisements, promote special forms of tourism and encourage Greek and Thai entrepreneurs to invest in tourism.

After the signing ceremony, the Greek tourism minister told reporters that "it is a very significant and optimistic step for the development of relations between the two countries."

Surakiart said the agreement was as a good starting point to boost the existing cooperation in the sector of culture.

He expressed the hope that the two countries would cooperate in various sectors including culture, economy and commerce.
