Two Road Accidents in Egypt Kill 10, Including British Tourist

Ten people, including a British tourist, were killed and 42 others wounded in two separate road mishaps in Egypt on Wednesday, police sources said.

Eight pilgrims were killed and 40 others injured when their bus overturned in Zafarana, some 120 km south of Suez. One of the wounded died after being taken to nearby hospital.

The pilgrims were heading for Safaga harbor en route to Saudi Arabia to perform a small pilgrimage, according to Egypt's MENA news agency.

Meanwhile, a Pakistani tourist carrying British passport was killed and three others injured when their bus overturned on the highway between Cairo and Suez.

MENA quoted Suez security assistant chief Ahmed Adel as saying that the accident occurred some 68 km west of Cairo.

The injured were rushed to hospital. An investigation into the accident was underway, according to MENA.
